The Facts:
As previously noted, McCown sustained a cracked bone in the index finger of his right (throwing) hand against the Lions, prompting a report he might not be able to play Sunday against the Broncos. But a person close to McCown dismissed the report and said McCown is day to day and hasn't been ruled out of Sunday's game.

HC Lane Kiffin said Monday that he won't comment on McCown's injury until today, when he is required to do so per league rules. McCown sustained his injury on Oakland's final offensive play when he smacked his hand on a lineman during a sack in which he fumbled. Daunte Culpepper probably would start if McCown is unable to play.
