The Facts:
Gore, who missed most of the preseason with a broken right hand, had precautionary X-rays on his hand that were negative after being held to 39 yards in a 37-16 defeat to Pittsburgh on Sunday.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
While he is apparently not seriously injured, Gore is frustrated after being held to fewer than 100 yards for the third consecutive game. He ran for 1,695 yards in 2006, with nine 100-yard games. "They have more people in the box right now (as opposed to last year), so we can't get block everybody," Gore said. It's safe to say opponents are game planning to shut down Gore and force Alex Smith to make plays to beat them. Smith has only one TD pass in three games. ... As for the hand, we'll monitor and update further if/when developments warrant.
