Alan Herman, the agent for Jones, denied reports that he contacted other teams in the NFL to gauge their interest in Jones. What happened, Herman said, is that executives around the league contacted him wanting to inquire about HC Jack Del Rio's criticism of Jones. According to Herman, executives were surprised about the comments Del Rio made about Jones last Monday. "They thought it was unusual," Herman said.

Del Rio publicly criticized Jones last Monday by saying he wasn't comfortable with the seemingly lackadaisical body language the receiver was displaying in games, especially on plays in which he wasn't the primary receiver. Jones was listed as the No. 3 quarterback during the Jaguars' 23-14 win over Denver on Sunday. Despite being designated as the emergency quarterback, Jones didn't suit up. He instead stood on the sidelines in a sweat suit. If the club continues to keep Jones off the field, Herman said he'd call James "Shack" Harris, the Jaguars' vice president of player personnel, to seek permission for a trade.
