The signing could be a chance for McCardell to end his NFL career where he started: McCardell, a 15-year veteran, was drafted by the Redskins in the 12th round of the 1991 NFL Draft. He spent the past three NFL seasons with the Chargers, appearing in 37 games during that span. Last season, McCardell played in 14 games -- with 11 starts -- and caught 36 passes for 437 yards.
