According to ESPN's Michelle Tafoya, reporting live from Cincinnati, Maroney will be inactive for tonight's game against the Bengals. Reported by FootballDiehards.com

The announcement comes as a bit of a surprise considering ESPN's Sal Paolantonio reported he would be active a short time ago. ... Maroney apparently failed to convince coaches the sore groin that limited him all this week was ready during pre-game warmups. The team hasn't announced a starter but it's safe to assume Sammy Morris, Kevin Faulk and Heath Evans will all be asked to pick up some of the slack.
