An MRI performed Monday confirmed that Kurt Warner has a ligament tear in his left elbow. Cardinals spokesperson said that Warner will not require surgery since the tear is expected to heal on its own.

The Cardinals are still determining how much Warner will be able to play while the injury heals. Warner hinted Sunday that he might not miss much action because the bye week follows this week’s game at Washington. He will likely wear a brace on his left arm, his non-throwing arm, and may try to practice as soon as Wednesday. Tim Rattay will start this week and the team announced the anticipated signing of Tim Hasselbeck this morning.
