The Facts:
The Vikings revealed today that Jackson has an avulsion fracture of the middle finger on his right hand, suffered midway through yesterday’s 24-14 loss at Dallas. The joint is sore, swollen and in a splint, HC Brad Childress said. Medical officials will evaluate it after a throwing session Tuesday before deciding Jackson’s status for Sunday’s game against Philadelphia.

After coming after a 6-for-19 performance against the Cowboys, Jackson might have inadvertantly given Childress an excuse to elevate Kelly Holcomb into the starting lineup. ... Asked if Jackson would start against the Eagles if his finger proves sound, Childress hedged. “Yeah, if he can do all the thigns he needs to be able to do physically and mentally,” Childress said. Stay tuned.
