The Facts:
The Buccaneers on Sunday obtained McCown from the Browns for a sixth-round pick. McCown started four of five games as a rookie last season and completed 48-of-98 passes for 608 yards and four touchdowns with seven interceptions. The Browns used a third-round pick on Akron quarterback Charlie Frye on Saturday, making McCown expendable. Cleveland plans to start veteran Trent Dilfer, who was acquired from Seattle last month.  Reported by The Sports Ticker

A fourth-round pick of the Browns out of Louisiana Tech in 2004, McCown likely will compete with Chris Simms in Tampa Bay for the backup job to starter Brian Griese.
