The Facts:
The Texans placed Gado on waivers today. To replace Gado, they've moved practice squad running back Joe Echemandu to the active roster. They also signed quarterback Shane Boyd Tuesday to fill Echemandu's spot on the practice squad.

Gado came to the Texans last year in a trade for Vernand Morency. He rushed for 217 yards last season. This season, he had 18 carries for 46 yards, a 2.6-yard average per carry. He also had eight catches for 59 yards and a touchdown. Echemandu, whose last team was Oakland, signed with the Texans earlier this month and was placed on the practice squad.
