Alex Smith Needed Injection Before, X-Rays After Game
(10/29 9:57 PT)

The Facts:
Smith had to take a pain-killing shot of toradol before Sunday's game against the Saints. In the second quarter, his shoulder was taped up. Smith had X-rays taken after the game, and it came back negative. Reported by the Santa Rosa Press Democrat

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As Press Democrat staffer Matt Maiocco suggested, Smith showed toughness but results were lacking. Smith struggled with his accuracy. There were some big plays to be made, but he failed to put the ball on target. HC Mike Nolan said the team doctors never said that Smith should come out of the game. Smith wanted to remain in the game, so Smith remained in the game. Smith said it would not have been fair to his teammates and to backup Trent Dilfer if he had come out of the game after taking all of the practice reps.
