According to ESPN's Ed Werder, the Cowboys and Tony Romo have agreed in principle to a new six-year, $67.5 million deal with $31 million guaranteed.

We'll have more on this news in coming days, but it's worth noting the guaranteed portion -- as reported by Werder -- is just $3 million less than the guaranteed money in Peyton Manning's contract with Indianapolis. ... Not bad. It might also be worth noting that Romo just happened to take out a $30 million insurance policy protecting him against injury this summer. Looks like he'll be able to handle the premiums without difficulty.
