After the Lions drafted players at his positions in the first round of the laset three of the NFL draft, Hakim -- the club's second-leading receiver last season -- was released on Monday. Hakim became expendable after Detroit grabbed Southern California wide receiver Mike Williams as the 10th overall pick. Reported by The Sports Ticker

Hakim, who originally signed with the Lions in March 2002, finished with 533 receiving yards and three touchdowns on 31 catches last season despite missing four games due to injury.
