The Facts:
Gardner's agent met Monday with head coach Joe Gibbs, but there was no immediate resolution to the receiver's status with the team. Gibbs, who called Monday's meeting positive, said the Redskins would not release Gardner. He also said he expects Gardner to attend the Redskins' May workouts and June mini-camp. Gardner's agent, Joel Segal, wouldn't comment on whether Gardner would attend those sessions. But he did say his client would play for the Redskins this season, if nothing is resolved.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The Redskins gave Gardner permission to seek a trade earlier this offseason. Though several teams expressed interest, no team has agreed to either the Redskins' trade demands or Gardner's contract wishes. He's in the final year of his contract with Washington.
