The Facts:
ESPN insider Chris Mortensen advised viewers this morning that Williams is unlikely to be reinstated by commissioner Roger Goodell in his attempt to return from a one-year suspension. Mortensen suggested a difference of opinion between the league's doctors and the doctors who treat Williams' social anxiety disorder is an issue.

Mortensen further noted that Dolphins' officials would actually prefer that Williams not be reinstated during the 2007 season. Keeping him out until next year would give the team an opportunity to trade him without making a decision on keeping the mercurial ball carrier or cutting him. With Ronnie Brown done for the year, team officials would have a hard time convincing fans that simply turning Williams loose is a good idea.
