More Larry Johnson: Short-Term Outlook Pessimistic
(11/5 6:54 PT)

The Facts:
Following up on an ongoing story. ... Johnson injured his right foot and was on crutches after Sunday's loss to Green Bay. HC Herman Edwards was careful not to declare Johnson out of next Sunday's home game against Denver but was pessimistic about Johnson's chances of playing. "He couldn't put any weight on his foot coming off the field," Edwards said. "That's never good. We'll just wait until the week progresses and see what happens." Reported by the Kansas City Star

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Johnson's absence would mean that Priest Holmes is the featured back. Rookie Kolby Smith, who hasn't carried the ball this season but has two pass receptions, also could play. "You can't give Priest all of those carries, obviously, if Larry can't go," Edwards said. "Smith will have to play some, too. ... We'll probably have to do some things differently. There's no doubt about that. You play to your talent level. You play to your players' strengths." Johnson is scheduled for further testing today; we'll have more details on his injury as the day and week progress.
