Chiefs GM Carl Peterson said he does not believe Johnson is out for the year, but declined to say how long he might be gone.

FOXSports insider Jay Glazer reported this morning -- before Peterson's latest denial -- that while the Chiefs continue to say that Johnson's injury is a sprain -- and that they hope to get him back before the end of the season (perhaps in December) -- Johnson is telling teammates he did indeed crack the fourth metatarsal bone in foot. That would certainly explain the series of reports -- citing anonymous sources close to the situations -- suggesting that Johnson's injury is worse than the team is admitting. Stay tuned. ... This will undoubtedly be an ongoing story next week -- and likely longer.
