Texans Sign Kris Brown To 5-Year Extension
(5/4 11:51 PT)

The Facts:
Brown, who has accounted for nearly one-third of the Houston Texans scoring during the franchise's three-season existence, has signed a five-year extension. The deal, worth about $8 million and including a signing bonus of $2 million, comes as Brown was about to enter the final season of the four-year contract he signed in 2002.  Reported by ESPN.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Brown converted just 17 of 24 field goal tries, a success rate that ranked last in the AFC and third-worst in the NFL among kickers with 15 attempts or more in 2004. ... On the positive side, Brown's point total has increased the past two seasons, as has the Texans' scoring. He has posted 237 of the club's 777 points since the Texans entered the league in 2002.
