The Facts:
Smith has surgery scheduled for today in Southern California to repair his hip, his second such surgery in less than 11 months.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The surgery will be done in hopes of preventing Smith from needing hip replacement surgery. Regardless of the outcome, it is highly unlikely Smith, the Broncos' all-time leading receiver, will play football again. He had surgery on the hip in February and was only able to practice on a limited basis in November before being shelved for the season. Before the Broncos' final game, Smith acknowledged that his career likely is over.
