Dungy To Decide Future Next Week
(1/14 12:14 PT)

The Facts:
Tony Dungy addressed the media Monday, one day after the Colts were ousted by the Chargers, 28-24, in the AFC divisional playoffs. In the wake of the stunning loss, Dungy spoke optimistically about the Colts' future while insisting no decision had been reached on his own. "My wife and I will sit down and evaluate it this week, talk it through and do a lot of praying," Dungy said. "I've met with (owner) Jim Irsay and (team president) Bill (Polian). We'll probably make some decision this weekend and be ready to move forward on Monday one way or another. ... I'm hoping to be back. But we'll see what happens." Reported by The Sports Ticker

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Dungy's future has been the subject of speculation since his son transferred from an Indiana high school to one in Florida, where the family spends the offseason. Dungy said that his decision would be based entirely on what was best for his family. "I've got some kids that I need to be a good dad to," he said. "I have to make sure I have the energy I need to devote to both of those jobs. ... I don't want to shortchange the Colts, and I don't want to shortchange my family. We'll see how it goes." Stay tuned.
