The Buffalo Bills signed Barnes on Thursday. Barnes, a reserve future free agent, played five games and made four starts with the New York Jets this past season. The six-year veteran was released by the Jets in November.

The Bills will be using a fullback this year on offense after not having any on their roster in 2007. Buffalo used an H-back scheme this past season, with the tight end lining up in the backfield on occasion but new OC Turk Schonert plans to go with a more traditional, two-back approach.
