The Facts:
GM Ted Thompson said after last night's NFC Championship loss to the Giants that he planned to meet with Favre possibly as early as today to discuss the future, but he has not done so recently. Asked if he wanted Favre back next season, Thompson said, "Sure. Wouldn't you?"

Immediately after it the game was over, Favre admitted taking the loss hard but didn't seem like someone ready to give it up. "Had we won this game and gone to the Super Bowl and whatever happens in that game when it was over, I was going to go home and think about where I wanted to go from there," Favre said. "I don't think that's going to really change because we didn't make it. It's been a great year. ..." We suspect that will be enough for Favre to come back this year. Whatever the case, it sounds like the decision will come sooner this year than it did last.
