Rivers faces reconstructive knee surgery, likely in about two weeks, and will go through four to six months of rehabilitation before he is ready to play again.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The extent of his ACL injury and the previous surgery were not known until Rivers disclosed them Monday. News that the injury wasn't the MCL issue the Chargers stated but the more serious ACL leaked late last week. Rivers' procedure will require a new ligament -- either from his hamstring or from a cadaver -- to be inserted in his knee. The Chargers peg Rivers' rehabilitation at four to six months. Eight to nine months seems more realistic. Whatever the case, time lost in off-season workouts will compound the injury issue. Still, Rivers is eventually expected to return to 100 percent.
