HC Mike McCarthy had his season-ending news conference this afternoon at Lambeau Field. McCarthy said he spoke with Favre on Tuesday and discussed both sides of whether Favre will return next season. McCarthy expects to be in contact with Favre every seven to 10 days until the decision is reached.

According to Press Gazette staffer Tom Pelissero, Favre and his family left for Mississippi today and will take a couple of weeks to discuss the decision. ... McCarthy went on to suggest that if Favre returns, his obligations in the offseason likely will be the same as a year ago, when he went through most of organized team activity practices but was not in attendance for review days.
