Kevin Jones Ahead Of Schedule After ACL Surgery
(1/24 8:16 PT)

The Facts:
Jones, who currently is undergoing rehabilitation in Birmingham, Ala. after having his ACL repaired, said he's ahead of schedule. "This injury is supposed to take four to six months, but it won't take that long with me. I'm ahead of schedule, I'm already walking without crutches," Jones said. Reported by Booth Newspapers

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Both HC Rod Marinelli and OC Jim Colletto have both suggested landing an RB would be a high priority in free agency for Detroit. Jones respectfully disagrees. Jones said the situation is not the same as last year and the Lions don't have any holes at running back. "We have other issues (in free agency) and running back isn't one of them," Jones said. "Last year, I supposedly had a career-ender and I came back from that. These (ACL repair surgeries) don't end careers. I'll be back for (training) camp, I'm not worried at all. ..." Despite Jones' faster than expected recovery from last year's Lisfranc injury -- and his protestations to the contrary, this year's torn ACL all but ensures the Lions look for help at the position.
