Michael Pittman Open To Returning To Bucs
(1/24 12:53 PT)

The Facts:
Pittman has been loyal to the Buccaneers since joining the team in 2002. While he would like to finish his career as a Buccaneer, Pittman, who is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent on Feb. 29, is open to the possibility of leaving Tampa Bay for another team. Reported by PewterReport.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
With "Cadillac" Williams' return from a serious knee injury uncertain, the Bucs are reportedly preparing for the season as if the former first-round pick won't play. Pittman and Michael Bennett are scheduled to become unrestricted free agents. Although Earnest Graham is under contract for 2008, the Bucs are likely to add at least one back through free agency and/or the draft. As a result, Pittman has some reservations about re-signing with Tampa Bay since his role could become even more limited than it was before. "It depends on what [HC Jon] Gruden says my role is going to be," said Pittman. The Bucs would like to re-sign Pittman, but at the right price. Pittman will turn 33 in August, which makes him the third-oldest running back in the NFL.
