The Facts:
The 49ers are trying to convince Dilfer to retire. Dilfer was in Mobile this week because he will be one of the color announcers for today's Senior Bowl broadcast. Dilfer, however, cautioned that his broadcast gig does not signal an end to his playing career. He said he would wait a month or so before deciding whether he wants to play again. "I've been (announcing) for a few years, just cutting my teeth," Dilfer said. "I've got a lot of other interests besides football. I'm just getting my ducks in a row, so to speak."
