Speculation Regarding Randy Moss' Price Tag Begins
(2/1 12:40 PT)

The Facts:
When the Patriots acquired Moss from the Oakland Raiders for a fourth-round pick, they knew he could be one and done unless they signed him to a long-term extension. It was a risk worth taking. Now Moss, who will turn 31 later this month, wants a lot of money -- about $15 million to $20 million guaranteed -- to re-sign with New England. And he's making the Patriots' decision very difficult. Reported by the Houston Chronicle

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
We'll advise you the above figure is provided by Chronicle NFL writer John McClain, a very knowledgable league insider. But the dollar amount cited is purely speculation. It is, however, based on the current market value for high end wideouts. The problem for Moss is age. It's still not clear if the Patriots will break the bank to keep an aging receiver -- even one as productive as Moss. Whatever the case, this will be among this year's biggest off-season storylines in coming weeks. Stay tuned.
