ESPN insider Chris Mortensen is reporting the same. ... That's great news for the Giants organization, who will likely give him a hefty raise in the coming days, possibly even making him the highest-paid defensive coordinator in the NFL. According to Daily News staffer Ralph Vacchiano, it's not yet clear why Spagnuolo turned down the Redskins, or if he was actually offered the job. According to one source, the Redskins were "preparing" to offer Spagnuolo the job late last night. It's possible he might have withdrawn before the actual offer came. Meanwhile, Jim Fassel now appears to be the favorite to become the next coach of the Redskins.
