The Facts:
Despite some speculation around the league, Giants GM Jerry Reese told Newsday this morning in an e-mail that Shockey "is our starting tight end." The Giants have no plans to trade Shockey as they prepare for NFL free agency and the draft, nor are they considering releasing him this off-season.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Shockey disappeared from the Giants after he suffered a broken left leg on Dec. 16, choosing to stay away during his team's Super Bowl run. Shockey did attend the Super Bowl 11 days ago, sitting in a suite, but he skipped all the other post-season games as well as the Giants' victory parade in Manhattan. There has been considerable speculation that Eli Manning's late-season surge had more than a little to do with the demonstrative Shockey's absence. Manning dismissed such talk. "That's a stupid theory," the QB said.
