The Facts:
The Vikings have given the representative for Williamson permission to shop his client, according to multiple NFL sources. There has been speculation the Vikings might release Williamson but clearly the Vikings are hoping to get something for him.

Williamson, the seventh-overall pick in the 2005 draft, had a career-low 18 receptions for 240 yards in 11 games last season. This came after he spent the offseason working on his catching abilities and also spent time working with doctors from Nike to improve his vision. Williamson, who has been plagued by dropped passes throughout his career. Although Vikings WRs coach George Stewart recently said that he wants to give Williamson another chance, Profootballtalk.com's Mike Florio notes this morning it now appears that statement appears to be "a too-little, too-late effort" by the Vikings to make other teams think he won't be cut if he isn't dealt.
