Despite the efforts of some teams to inquire whether the Cardinals would be willing to trade Fitzgerald, Arizona is working to restructure its wide receiver’s contract.

As it is, Fitzgerald could be the highest paid player in football this season, with a salary-cap number scheduled to be $16.5 million. The Cardinals are working to reduce the number, but it is uncertain that they can. However it works out, they are unwilling to listen to the teams that had an interest in trading for Fitzgerald -- and NFL Network insider Adam Schefter notes there were at least two confirmed teams.
