The Facts:
Approximately 90 players were on hand Monday as the Colts opened their voluntary "summer school." Among those not reporting were James, who is under contract after signing his one-year, $8.1 million tender as the Colts' "franchise" player in mid-March and place-kicker Mike Vanderjagt.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
James' absence wasn't a surprise since he's always spent his offseasons working out in South Florida. "I know Edgerrin's down in Miami, probably one of the most physically-fit athletes in the National Football League," Peyton Manning said. ... Whether James shows up for the team's mandatory three-day minicamp, which begins Friday, is anybody's guess. Vanderjagt has always worked out on his own in Canada, but returns to Indianapolis for mini-camps.
