The Facts:
Romo has yet to throw and NFL pass, but that didn't stop Cowboys officials on Friday from handing the young quarterback a new, two-year contract extension. Romo, originally signed as an undrafted college free agent in 2003, signed a deal that will pay him $1.88 million for this season and 2006. The contract includes a signing bonus of $300,000. There is a $20,000 roster bonus due this spring and a reporting bonus of $280,000 next summer.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Lack of playing time aside, Romo has at times drawn praise from head coach Bill Parcells, who acknowledged in the team's 2003 training camp that he liked his potential. While Romo does not possess great physical stature, he has a strong arm and an excellent feel for the game. Clearly, Parcells and owner Jerry Jones project him as more than just a career No. 3 quarterback.
