The Facts:
As expected, the trio of Javon Walker, Bubba Franks and Brett Favre were absent from the opening day of the Green Bay Packers' minicamp Wednesday. And aside from a possible cameo appearance at practice by Favre on Friday, all three are expected to be no-shows for the remainder of the team's six scheduled practices.

With Sherman having excused Favre once again from attending and with Franks still unsigned and unable to participate, Walker's contract-related absence at the voluntary mini-camp generated a buzz but didn't appear to upset Sherman too badly. "I don't think it's a distraction at all," Sherman said. "You move on. Treat it like an injury or treat it like he's not here and someone else steps forward. ..." Which is all well and good in June. It'll be more interesting to see where Sherman stands on this one in August.
