The Facts:
Chiefs president Carl Peterson announced on Thursday that the club has terminated the contract of Morton. Morton played in 43 games (42 starts) in his three seasons with Kansas City. He caught 134 passes for 1,932 yards with eight touchdowns. "We appreciate Johnnie Morton's effort during his tenure with the Kansas City Chiefs," Peterson stated. "We wish him the best in the future."

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The move comes as no surprise since Morton was asked not to take part in the team's off-season program and recent mini-camp sessions. ... Team officials hope Samie Parker and Marc Boerigter, who missed 2004 with a knee injury, can pick up the slack left by Morton's departure.
