The Facts:
Mike Holmgren said this week that Pathon needs to work on his conditioning before he can run with Seattle’s receivers. "He is entitled to his opinion; he is the head coach," Pathon said after practice Wednesday. "At the same time, this is offseason workouts and we still have to go out in the desert and run around for two or three weeks, right?" The team doesn’t practice in a desert, but conditions are generally hot and dry.

Training camp begins July 29. Pathon said he reported to mini-camp at 198 pounds, up from his regular-season weight of 192 or 193. “If you come in and you peak now, where are you going during the season?” Pathon asked. ... While it might indeed be too early to be in peak condition, it's never too early for players battling for roster spots to make coaches happy.
