In search for more experience at the quarterback position, the Browns signed Johnson, a six-year NFL veteran, to a one-year contract Monday. The team also added free-agent kicker Nick Setta and released running back Adimchinobe Echemandu.

The 6-foot-2, 225-pound QB originally entered the league in 2000 with Atlanta as an undrafted free agent. ...
