Until now, most of
Taylor's rehabilitation from off-season knee surgery has revolved around rudimentary running and other basic exercises. That is about to change. In the next two to four weeks, Taylor's rehab will drastically intensify. The team plans to have Taylor do extensive cutting, sprinting and other tests designed to probe the true strength of the knee. "Now," Jack Del Rio said Tuesday, "we will see what Fred's status truly is."

So, the real news coming out of this final week of mini-camp is that the Jaguars are entering a phase in which the team should know within a short period of time, with little doubt, if Taylor can actually play or not this coming season. As Times-Union columnist Mike Freeman put it: "Until this point, they have only guessed and crossed their fingers. ..." Stay tuned.
